According to the University of Phoenix Learning Team Handbook (2004) "Developing and implementing a team charter is a valuable skill, and greatly increases the likelihood that a team will reach its objectives in an effective and an efficient manner. The charter also helps team members identify potential conflicts and decide how to resolve conflicts should they arise. One benefit of re-forming teams regularly (i.e., disbanding cohorts) is that students will avoid the tendency for the chartering process to become rote or perfunctory."
